A wondrous and circuitous journey...

Picture
I've been on a long, wondrous, and circuitous journey.  Along the way I've learned a great deal about everything I don't know, but even more about the absolute persistence of Grace.

Originally ordained in the United Methodist Church, I eventually found my way to the United Church of Christ.  Currently I am Senior Minister of the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, CT, a large and vibrant community, housed in an historic building, and keen on finding new ways to increase diversity.  For the 12 years prior I was Senior Minister of Broadway United Church of Christ, a justice-oriented and historic congregation on Manhattan's Upper West Side.

I am a graduate of Taylor University (BA), Ashland Theological Seminary (MDiv) and Drew University (DMin).  My doctoral research explored the growing interest in Marian theology and devotion in a progressive Protestant context.

When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, traveling, taking photographs, exploring flea markets and tag sales, and going on long and vigorous walks with Ella, our delightful Boston Terrier.  I am happily married to my best friend, Marcos Martins.
